Journaling for Gems
Doris Chapman Wyatt
I have recently been in a writing class at Verena Independent Senior Living Residence taught by Pam Schlickenmeyer. Here I have published my writing in Verena Voices, a collection of writings from people living here. I have also written a monthly column called Verena Mystery Resident about individuals who live here.

Before retirement, I was a co-editor of Touching All Bases: A Rhetoric of Self Discovery, a freshman composition textbook. I taught English classes at Science Hill High School in Johnson City, Tennessee for 27 years. Following my retirement in 1997, I taught on the Adjunct Faculty primarily at East Tennessee State University. I also taught college English courses for Tusculum University and Northeast State Community College.
